Setting the fishing reel drag has never been easier and more accurate. No more guessing or calculating - simply set reel drag to match the scale's desired line test calibration.
Drag Setting - Accurately setting the reel's drag system allows the drag to safely slip and avoids overstressing or line breakage.
How to Set Drag - The reel should be attached to the rod and line passed thru all the guides. Attach fishing line to the scale's hook end. Set the reel drag by pulling line off reel using the scale; the reel drag is accurately set when the scale indicator matches corresponding line test calibration. The EZ-Set Drag is calibrated for both 25% and 33% safety factor; select the desired calibration.
